The material
Consistent, non-porous, engineered.
Engineered quartz is around 90% ground natural quartz bound with resin and pigment and pressed into slabs under vacuum. What you see in the showroom is exactly what arrives, colour and pattern match from slab to slab, and the surface never needs sealing.
- Best for
- Busy family kitchens, bathroom vanities, commercial counters and any project where a long run has to match perfectly. Not for outdoor use or direct sunlight, where UV can shift the colour over time.
- Durability
- Highly durable and scratch-resistant for everyday residential and commercial use. Chips are rare and repairable. Most brands warranty the surface for 15 years to lifetime.
- Heat & stains
- Non-porous, so wine, coffee and oil sit on the surface and wipe off. The resin binder is sensitive to sustained heat, so use a trivet under hot pans and pots.
- Maintenance
- Soap and water. No sealing, ever. Avoid abrasive pads and strong solvents, which can dull the finish.
- Look
- Hundreds of colours, from solid whites to marble-look veining and concrete tones, in polished, matte and textured finishes. Jumbo slabs up to 130 inches allow seamless islands.
